Today's about vibes. We're talking good vibrations.

Head up to the video icon to watch Corrine Bailey Rae’s sing 'Put Your Record On'. Go ahead. Move to it. Dance if you want to. Feel the rhythm.

Tell us what you think about the mood of the song when you've finished.

Take your time. Play it over again if you want to.

If it doesn't do it for you, find a song with positive lyrics that does do it.

Did the song make you feel free?

Did it make you feel happy?

That’s what Testudo-style friendships should feel like. They make you feel alive and free to be you.

Is your circle of friends growing? If so, how much do they make you feel safe and encouraged when you're around them?

Step 3

Based on the feeling you got from the song, is there another person you may have outgrown? If so, list their initials.

Step 4

Are you willing you to put this person on an outer level of friendship?

This would mean that you would reduce contact or limit the time you spend with them.

Are you ready to do this if it applies to you?

Step 5

Is there someone who's encouraging and helpful and makes you feel uninhibited; however, you don't spend that much time together?

Hang onto the feeling of Ms. Rae's song. Or find another tune that sends you. Hang onto that feeling. This is your barometer.

When a friendship consistently leaves you feeling the opposite of a song that makes you really happy, then it's time to re-examine the role that friend should play in your life.

Granted there will be ups and downs with friendships. That's not the point. We're looking at consistency - behavior over time.

When a friend inspires you to be yourself and makes you happy, then make sure you spend more time with that person.
