Summary: Investing in the fruit of patience.

Step 1

Read Galatians 5:22-23:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Are you ready to make an investment in the Fruit of Patience?

Step 2

Read Romans 2:4:

"Or do you presume upon the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?"

Are you willing to consider how important Patience is to God?

Step 3

Isaiah 30:18:

"Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him."

How satisfied does this passage make you feel?

Step 4

If you answered 'No' to question 2 and/or 'Very Dissatisifed' to question 3, you should consider whether or not God is leading you to work on patience at this time. Please only continue if, after prayer and consideration, you believe He really is leading you to develop more patience in this season.

Respond 'Yes' if you intend to continue and 'No' if you don't.

Step 5

Consider Lamentations 3:25-26:

"The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD."

Sit in silence for 1 minute. Read the passage again, very slowly.

How positively does this scripture capture your heart?

Step 6

What effect do you believe your impatience will have on people or circumstances around you?

Step 7

Go to 'DOCUMENTS' and read Matthew 18:21-35, followed by 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

How much of the time do you think your behavior is similar to that of the 'unforgiving servant'?

Step 8

Read the 1 Corinthians passage again.

How much would you like to be treated like this?

Step 9

Go back to Step 2 and read the Romans passage.

How much confidence do you have in God's patience toward you?

Step 10

Think of a time when someone's impatience affected you in a negative way.

Can you believe that God feels this way toward our impatience?

Step 11

How much has this Trail helped you to increase your level of patience?
