Summary: Investing in the fruit of goodness.

Step 1

Read Galatians 5:22-23:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Are you ready to make an investment in the Fruit of Goodness?

Step 2

In all honesty, how often do you find yourself feeling discouraged and disillusioned in your walk with God?

Step 3

What circumstances are you dealing with right now that leaves you wondering just how good and all powerful God really is?

Step 4

Read Exodus 3:14:

"And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"

Select 'Successful' when you are finished.

Step 5

Go to 'documents' and read Oswald Chambers comments on discouragement.

Select 'Successful' when you are finished.

Step 6

Oswald states:

"We may have the vision of God and a very clear understanding of what God wants, and yet when we start to do it, there comes to us something equivalent to Moses’ forty years in the wilderness. It’s as if God had ignored the entire thing, and when we are thoroughly discouraged..."

How much does this description apply to what you are currently going through?

Step 7

Earlier Oswald states:

"In the beginning Moses had realized that he was the one to deliver the people, but he had to be trained and disciplined by God first. He was right in his individual perspective, but he was not the person for the work until he had learned true fellowship and oneness with God."

Like Moses, how might God be using your current difficulties to train and discipline you into 'true fellowship and oneness with God'?

Write your answer in the space provided.

Step 8

Oswald continues:

"...God comes back and revives His call to us. And then we begin to tremble and say, “Who am I that I should go...?” We must learn that God’s great stride is summed up in these words—“I AM WHO I AM...has sent me to you” (Exodus 3:14).

When God comes back and revives His call, what difficulties do you imagine you will experience in believing and trusting Him?

Write your answer in the space provided.

Step 9

Oswald states:

"We must also learn that our individual effort for God shows nothing but disrespect for Him— our individuality is to be rendered radiant through a personal relationship with God, so that He may be “well pleased” (Matthew 3:17)."

Regarding your walk with God, ask Him what you can do for Him right now that will make Him 'well pleased'.

Write down what you receive in the space provided.

Step 10

If you receive an answer, how much passion and resolve do you have to do what has been asked of you?

Step 11

Oswald concludes:

"We are focused on the right individual perspective of things; we have the vision and can say, “I know this is what God wants me to do.” But we have not yet learned to get into God’s stride. If you are going through a time of discouragement, there is a time of great personal growth ahead."

Ask Him to reveal to you what lies ahead in your walk with Him.

Write down what you receive in the space provided.

Step 12

Is there anything you would like to thank God for?

If so, you can do so privately or in the space provided.

Step 13

How much has this Trail increased you level of belief in God's goodness?
